About 300 Residents Benefits From Second ‘JIGI BOLA’ Health Initiative In Ijede

The second edition of the free medical outreach for Ijede residents held on Tuesday with about 300 people benefitting from the JIGI BOLA Health Initiative of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), held at the council secretariat on Tuesday.

The initiative was in conjunction with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Health District II, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

It aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of residents, particularly elderly persons by providing free eye screenings, reading glasses, blood pressure checks, and on-the-spot enrollment into the Ilera Eko Health Scheme.

According to the organisers, 222 residents benefited from the LASHMA scheme, while 259 received free eye glasses.

In her remarks, the Council Chairman reiterated her administration’s commitment to prioritizing community health, noting that the Jigi Bola Initiative directly responds to the growing demand for accessible eye care, especially for the elderly population.

The Supervisor for Health, Hon. Gbolahan S. Quadri, urged residents to take advantage of all available healthcare initiatives to address their individual health needs.

Dr. Saheed Tajudeen, Medical Officer of Health at Ijede LCDA, educated beneficiaries on the benefits of the health insurance scheme and thanked CHAI for providing free accessible healthcare services.
